(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I had chickens long long ago. Work schedule made it impossible. Been retired a few years now and find myself back into gardening and now chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I ordered 9 started pullets from Myer Hatchery. I pick them up Mar 20. No kids here and I did not want to mess with chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have? 3 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Barred Rocks, and 3 golden buffs (Cinnamon Queens)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I like watching them and the eggs of course. they will compliment my garden.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Fishing, Fishing and Fishing
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I am retired from a syrup refinery. I love my English Springer Spaniel Zakk. He goes everywhere with me. My wife and I will be married 50 Years this year.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

Welcome to BYC! Sounds like a good plan! Will you be free ranging them in the garden? Retirement is the perfect time to start raising chickens! Gives us something to be responsible for and manage. Congrats on the golden anniversary!!!
