Hi all! I was given a second-hand five gallon water container for my flock. It hasn’t been used in a while and needs a good cleaning. See pic. Any suggestions on how to safely clean this thing out? TIA!

Ok, great. That’s the same thought I had, glad to have a second opinion. Thanks! If it’s dry all that stuff is dead. I would hose it out and proceed.
Can’t go wrong with white vinegar and a scrub brushWill it fit in the bottom rack of your dishwasher?
Otherwise, I'd suggest a good scrub with a brush and your favorite dish liquid. Follow by sanitizing with boiling water if you aren't comfortable using bleach (followed by enough rinsing/airing to not smell bleach anymore).
Too big for the dishwasher, but I think I have a good scrub brush in hand I can use. Will it fit in the bottom rack of your dishwasher?

I hadn’t thought about white vinegar. A good vinegar scrub, and hose out would probably be sufficient. Can’t go wrong with white vinegar and a scrub brush
