Deep litter? PDZ? Sand?

Ok it's almost finished, what should a newbie put in a raised 4x4 hen house with covered outside run for litter........the PDZ stuff sounds pretty good for inside? maybe with pine shavings in the nest boxes? and outside its pretty dry here in Idaho i dont mind scooping tri weekly etc so far just 2"sand in outside run over dirt from leveling pavers for coops foundation...Ideas???

The pdz is meant to be added to the bedding to reduce the odor and absorb some extra moisture to make it last longer. If you don't mind scoping you can put a poop tray under the roost full of pdz and your bedding will stay clean for a long time. I sprinkle about 2 cups of pdz in the coop every 1-3 Weeks depending on how wet it is outside. It works great for maintaining a odor free coop.
