Sure, deer netting or bird netting (the bird netting has smaller openings). I've used the deer netting to keep my chickens out of the garden before and it worked fine. If you're using it as a "wall", then it's doubtful a nail will get caught. The biggest issue I had with it was that it wasn't tight along the bottom, so I had to use landscape "staples" to hold it down along the ground.
Now, it wouldn't do squat against any kind of predator...they'd go through it like a hot knife through butter. But for chickens it'd work fine.
