I just found one of my chickens (23 week old EE pullet) trapped between the dog crate we use for isolation and our coop. There was 3"-5" gap between the two. I freed her, checked her for obvious (to me) injuries and carried her to the water dish but when I set her down she turned and stumbled away from it. Her legs were crossing as she walked (she almost stepped on her own toes) and she kept putting her wings out for balance. I carried her back to the water and dipped her beak in a few times, and she seemed to catch on and drink. She then stepped right into the dish and is just standing there with her legs crossed. She is still very unsteady when she moves. I have no idea how she managed to get trapped or how long she was there (I sent the kids out to check for eggs this morning). Could the strange walking be a symptom of dehydration or should I be worried about injury or disease?

I should have mentioned that it is about 95 degrees today. Also- I just checked on her again and she is now walking around doing normal chicken things, but she has a strange wiggle in her walk. Almost like her body twists when she steps on her right foot. I am hoping it is just a bit of tenderness from being wedged in that little space. Any thoughts?
