Dekalb Amberlinks shedding, is this okay?

My Amberlinks are shed a lot of feathers. However, there are no balding or bad spots. I got them about a month ago. They're about 5 months old. Is this okay?

I have 3 RIRs and they haven't lost a feather. But these new three, wow. At first, I didn't worry but now!!! Also can you tell me how to check for mites and what signs to look for since I got these birds from a cutie little 4H girl.
