This post is lacking a bunch of details.

Being the newbie in the group it could be from the other birds.

Can you post a pic?

I need to do some digging on this. Prolapse is caused when a hen lays an egg. Blood is not part of that, neither is a rank smell. She might have enteritis which will need to be treated with antibiotics. There is a possibility that the others pecked at the tissue protruding and caused the bleeding.

In the morning catch her up. You need to put her somewhere the flies can not get at her or they will lay eggs and she'll have a problem with maggots.

I would gently flush her with 1/2 Betadine and 1/2 water mixture. Or with sterile saline, I think you can get that from the feed store. I know the saline is safe but I'm taking a stab in the dark with the Betadine because of its antibacterial properties.

If you do a search for "prolapse" in the search box above, some information will come up which may help you. It sounds like that to me. Good luck with her. Sorry this is happening to the poor baby.

Its also crossed my mind that this bird had a problem before it came to live with you.

The more I thought about this the more I think the problem already existed and no one caught it.
