Delusions of Grandeur

He's a real cutie you got there!

And he and seven siblings are all for sale, but dang it, I'm becoming attached to him and his sister who is the same age. Somebody needs to save me, lol. He and his sister run with two DelaRock cockerels who are huge compared to them. They are like a little street gang, lol.

I had two d'anvers and an OEGB that were raised with two Rhode island reds. It was pretty handy as the little ones were never cold. In fact you had to put serious effort into finding them as they were generally under the reds somewhere... ;)

I can believe it!

These will have separation anxiety when the two big chicks are taken from them. All four were raised by broody hens and they became their own little group when they outgrew their mamas. I have a group of DelaRocks, the two with these D'Anvers and two more in the bantam coop with other broodies, that will be going to my main flock. These two D'Anver chicks have to go into the bantam coop with the other chicks of their own kind if no one claims them soon. They'll miss their huge pals big time, plus miss the freedom they've had up until now. My bantams generally do not get to go outside of their covered pen, but since these chicks were raised with a protective mama away from a flock, they've never been corraled before.

I have all Bantams besides the RIRs so they lived in the coop with all the other t-tinies until they started encouraging them to wander too far on their free ranging time. Then I rehomed them to some buddies who reported to me lately that the RIRs have taken to coming in the main house and scaring their dogs half to death :D I'll have to say.. I LOVE chickens. Its amazing how much personality they have!
