Long story short. I took in a frostbiten hen, and while I was attempting to save her my little serma roo Blu feel hard. Sadly she was too far gone and didn't make it. It's going on a month now, and he's been looked over and had preventive treatments. He is physically free of any parasites or injuries, vet says he's just depressed. His 5 girls all have clean bills of health. The cage is cleaned daily due to them being indoors, they are parrot sized after all...and I'm a little crazy. The vet said trying finding another hen just like the one that passed. She was of course muttier than mutt! I don't think anyone can really help, just ranting to fellow chicken ppl.

So sorry to hear things are hard for you. Sometimes life sends some real blows. I know the phrase ‘it can only get better’ probably won’t help but try spending time with them. See their general happiness and see how lucky they are to have someone who cares so much for them.
Then you won’t feel so bad 🤗

I hold him and talk to him everyday, he just doesn't want to be happy. It was his first loss in his flock, so I'm hoping he can overcome it. Poor guy.

Long story longer, contacted the seller I originally got them from as chicks...they reluctantly admitted they aren't great at preventing the frizzles from producing frazzles. They also admitted that heart issues run in their line too, with most only living 3-4 years. Ugh, my own fault I was excited for the curly feathers and should have been asking better questions or something...
