Hello! Looking forward to picking your brains for nuggets of wisdom!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I grew up around chickens and adopted a few that were killed by a neighbor's dog almost immediately a decade ago. About to start another flock soon.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs and selective breeding for a chicken that's desert adapted.

Gardening

Hello, and welcome! Glad that you joined! I live in the desert also over here in hot summer Arizona. I have found that the Naked Neck's do the best out here in our heat. Along with having less feathering on the neck, they also have less feathering on the body than the other breed's do. That helps to keep them cooler. They are also a good dual-purpose breed for meat and egg's. Mine lay large light brown egg's.
