designs for a chicken coop are needed please.
you see my chickens turn 1 year old in January so this is their first winter. and we can already tell that it is going to be way colder than it has been in the past. i have we believe lost one to the cold you see my six month old hen we put in with my one year olds her parents. she was our favorite she would come when we called and she would perch on us and follow us around. well two weeks ago it snowed three times and she did fine. but last week we found her dead on the floor it had dropped to the teens in the middle of the night and we did not know it was supposed to get that cold. any she died and we had to dig her a nice little grave by the garden. anyway we want to avoid the same problem with my one year olds. so we need a coop design that follows the following guidelines.
1.) it has to be able to add on to a dog pen. our current set up is a dog pen with tarps on the sides and a nice wooden and shingled roof.
2.) it has to be light because we are going to try and move out to the country soon but it does not look like it will happen this year.
3.) it has to be fairly inexpensive because their is six of us so price needs to stay kinda low.
they are three half bantam hens and 1 standard roo. if that helps any.
