Detecting pips in heavily patteren eggs?

Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to find pips in heavily patterned eggs such as Coturnix? I have some Coturnix Quail eggs on day 16(

) and I am thinking I might be seeing pips but it's hard to tell.

Bumping - although I suspect there is no way to tell.

I am not sure for those eggs but sometimes just hitting them with a flashlight at odd angles will show some lifting of the shell
