Determined Raccoon! Uuugggghhhhh!!!

well i just set 2 traps and also just read everyones great ideas about bait. I already have tuna so I used that. I put a can in each trap way in the back. I did have to play with and adjust the relaease pins alittle. The hens are locked up in the coop VERY SECURELY (I pray again

) . so I guess I'll just wait and see what happens. my brother is on call for me in the morning incase I catch it. I dont think I can "do it".
so the waiting game begins....good thing the coop is across from my bedroom window. I'll be up and down all night peeping.

I live in Missouri and just talked to the owner of Advanced Wildlife Management
and he said it is legal for me to release it but he cant..He has to do it on some private properties he has rights to....

FYI - my son uses sardines in his live traps - he's 15 and almost catches one everytime he sets the trap. He does anchor them in way towards the back of the trap. He also makes sure the trap can't be rolled over once the animal is caught. Good Luck! Keep us posted...

Well I went to bed at midnight and nothing. I just got up at 4am and I can tell thru the window that both traps were sprung! I couldn't help myself so I went out and there he is. a full grown raccoon. I cant believe I caught it! yeah! It must have been in there for a little while cause he's calm and laying down but I'm not touching it. He must have played with the smaller trap first cause its empty. Now I'm going back to bed and going to sleep peacefully.

I us old egg from incubater, break a few, only catch coons, skunks,or possum. Other baits you will catch cats, not thats bad, but may miss the coon if you have a cat in the trap.

Congrats on the catch!!
I would keep setting those traps until your sure there was only one.
