Deworming Chickens as preventative care

Taking into consideration that depending on the kind of worms they do shed their eggs in intervals, so it is quite possible to get a clear fecal float result while at the same time there are worms residing in the chickens.

Okay, thank you guys.

Right now, they seem to be eating and pooping alright. They are very active, looking at every opportunity to get out their run.

they are getting ants, squash bugs, roaches, & all kinds of bugs. Its no way stopping them! Tinnie, the brahma, she is 8 weeks old, is a direct descendant of the raptors. She is a big hunter. Just got some grasshoppers from my basil plant.

I did call my vet the other day and they do poultry care, will ask them in the fall about the fecal float test in the fall.

But they are eating a lot, too, after gorging on the garden greens, they all go in and ravenously eat their feed as well.

They are growing babies, and will eat a lot! You can have fecals run later this year, or any time you wonder, and only treat what's actually causing a problem.
Some flocks do have issues with intestinal parasites, and others never do, there's no plan that works everywhere.
Birds do like pumpkin seeds, and would have to eat tons of them to have it matter very much! Better to actually treat a problem if it ever occurs.

That's true, but if it was a heavy enough load to cause problems they would probably show up.
