Hello Everyone,
I’m new to this Forum and have very much enjoyed the information found so far.
I have a 7 week old Muscovy Duck (jury’s still out but pretty sure he’s indeed a ‘he’). He’s been indoors with us since we brought him home and he’s more than happy being a ‘lap duck’ so diapies are a must. He has no problem wearing them, in fact now ‘helps’ me put it on him. My first question is, can he be in his diapie all night with an overnight Maxie Pad (haven’t done so yet as I’m hesitant)?
Second question; he loves dry cat and dog food. I think the cat food specifically has too much protein but he refuses to eat the 16% duck crumbles. Any advice on convincing him it’s delicious?

Maybe he would like his feed if you moistened it a little or had the water dish near by.
I believe ducks need water to swallow dry foods. We used to have wandering Mallards that would bang at the side door for food. When we offered something on the ground they would pick it up and then spit it out. I gave them a bowl of water, and they brought the food over and dunked it - they ate it with no hesitation.Learned a lesson about ducks.

Thank you... He actually has a water bowl and he has no problem with dry cat and dog food, he just doesn’t like ‘duck’ food. I wouldn’t mind except I want him to get his nutrients and a proper amount of protein. And I’m not sure if he should be getting grit or if he’d even eat that if offered.
