We have a Rhode Island Red that was an eggcellent layer until about a month ago when she started to have a very severe diarrhea. She was very thirsty (not surprisingly) but otherwise behaved and appeared normally. She stopped laying for a week and then started to expel what looks like attempts at eggs - no yolk, only egg whites in soft shell, roughly the size and shape of cat feces. See the pictures. Her diarrhea is slowly getting better and better. She is almost back to normal and no other chickens are affected.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is she likely to recover?
