Warm.... Under a blanket... In Alaska...
Me and my bator... Well our relationship has taken a turn for the worse.
We started off a bit rocky, he was so good at keeping the temp just perfect, oh I admired it, but me, I was awful with the humidity.
3 tries later, we had our first chicks. Oh they were so cute. And he did a wonderful job with the temps, just perfect!
Well... I cleaned him out quite well, get all that bacteria out, and plugged him in after he dried.
But ever since, things haven't been the same.
When I plugged him in, I guess his window fell out, but I didn't notice a few hours later. And he just hasn't been right.
He's very uneven in his temps, instead of his little perfectionist tweaks he used to do, now it's more like, 'go big or go home', he'll heat up about 5 degrees randomly or cool down the same. I now regret opening the bator, for if I do, he doesn't care, he'll let the temp drop and won't even attempt to heat back up. I used to love being able to candle the eggs, now I feel if I do ill be killing all of them.
I've tried bribing him, after 3 days of arguing what temp it should be, and having to get rid of the old thermometer for a new, digital one, I put a dozen eggs in him. Alast, he still doesn't care.
I've tried telling him its not about us, but the kids, but he won't listen, he just does what he wants.
What went wrong? Do you think ill ever get my ol' bator back, or will it be a constant struggle? We have some guinea eggs and turkey eggs visiting next week, I want them to be at home, but I know they won't if we don't work this out.

Help.
