Lady week, I noticed my duckling's wing was sticking out from her body. This is a pic of another duckling ( i.e. not my duck nor my pic) I found on the internet of what her wing was doing:

So I watched the video in the sticky topics and wrapped Clementine's wing the same way (vet wrap around the affected part and securing it under the elbow):

I left it for 9 days (well, I changed it once because I let her go for a swim), and I checked it regularly. I took it off, and her wing no longer juts out like it did. Now it droops:

Questions:
  • Did I make it worse?
  • Do I need to rewrap it?
  • Is this just because her muscles are weak after being bound for so long?

No clue on treatments but it still looks like angel wing to me. Even if she is and you aren't able to fix it she will be fine, its purely cosmetic.

Can she adjust it where it's suppose to lay close to her body? Sometimes when wing feathers are growing in and blood is in the shafts they are heavy and they will droop then they will adjust then they will droop until they build the muscle u enough to keep them in proper place.

She tries, but it just kind of twitches and falls back down. I do see that the flight feathers on this side are longer than her right side.

Honestly, if it's only a cosmetic issue, I guess I'm ok with it. I just feel bad that I wasn't able to fix it. At least it no longer sticks out at an angle, right?

I just took a video. It takes a long time to upload, but I'll add it once it does.

If you can't fix it its not too had, once you clip the feathers sticking out it is barely noticeable. I attached a pic of my girl Pigeon when I first got her vs after its clipped

You got the angel wing taken care of. If for some reason the wing doesn't correct itself then it's just a cosmetic issue if you need to clip to keep the wing from getting dragged etc then you can do that after the feathers are completely grown in

Got it. Thanks!

I'm wondering if there was a way I should have wrapped it that would have helped the drooping? Might need that info for future duckies! (Shhhh! Don't tell hubby!)
