Well, I put her in the garage for a few nights, then I put her outside in a protected area under the old coop. She had her own water and food supply, and she could see the rest of the flock on the other side of her protected area. I put a camera up to watch over her and she was doing well……until today. I logged onto the camera this morning and she had passed away sometime during the night. I do not know what happened; there was no trauma visible. It should be noted that I had a surgical procedure done on Dec 2 and I have only in the past 3 or 4 days been able to SLOWLY AND CAUTIOUSLY walk outside into the coop to check on my flock. My dear husband has been feeding and watering the flock in my absence. So I took my “can hardly walk” azz outside and I checked on her one last time. I feel very guilty for losing her. It has been brutally cold at night, but I thought she would be fine with panels up on 3 of her 4 walls (and she had a ceiling)with plenty of hemp to snuggle up in all corners. It really hurts because I took a big chance in treating her with Vitamin E and I had a lot of time and sleepless nights wondering if she was going to make it. She was my little Buff Silkie Flipz. I hope she enjoyed her time with us. My husband wants to buy me another one…he feels so bad. Maybe we need to take a road trip up to Wisconsin…what do you think,Debie292d?It would be great to meet up with other chicken owners
