Didn't know where to put this BUT

I got a rooster looks like a RIR. He has 3 inch spurs. Never seen them that big. They have slits in them at the end. Could this have been to put blades in for fighting? He is in great shape just weird spurs. Could they have just split from getting so big.

No telling what happened, no them being split isn't from being fought nor is the spur length, if he looks like a RIR he probably is as most games are hard to find in a Mahogany color and RIRs are much more bulky making them easily distinguishable. They may be splitting from being so large, i haven't see it before but i guess it isn't impossible.. You can trim them if you want, there are a couple threads on spur removal you can find on the forum doing a search at the top. Plenty of articles for walk throughs too you can find by searching through google.

i dont know much about games but arent they bred to be mean to other roos so if it was a game the younger roo in the pen probly woulda been dead
