Bit of a weird question, I guess. We have some Cochins and Cream Legbars that we keep at our allotment. We feed them Layer's Pellets, a mix of corn, maize and veg leaves, dried shrimps and mealworms and the odd live worm we find on the plot. They refuse to eat slugs, not a single one of the six of them will do it, or cabbage leaves for that matter.
We recently hatched some USA Silkies and Marans - they are only 7 weeks old. They eat Chick Crumbs, mealworms, shrimps, some leaves, the odd worm we find. They also eat slugs and woodlice.

So I guess my question is, has anybody else noticed that Cream Legbars or Cochins are fussier eaters than other breeds? Or maybe, are Silkies renowned for eating absolutely everything and anything?

The only breed I've kept in your selection is Marans.
Eating slugs. I don't think any of the chickens I've known eat adult slugs but a few have eaten baby slugs.
Most have eaten cabbage if it's chopped up.
In my experience eating preferences have often been determined by the mother hen. If she has told them something is okay to eat then the chicks will eat it.
Chickens have taste buds (receptors) and the preferences that go with them.
Some are fussier than others.
