I have 3 duck eggs in the incubator day 12. I candled one tonight and saw a black shadow moving a little and veins coming out. Only thing is, it looks kinda big already for day 12. How big should the shadow of the duck be on day 12? The farm I got them from said they were pekin duck eggs but how much of the egg should a duck be filling on day 12? Also the air sac got bigger and I am so excited. I just want to make sure these are duck eggs though and what should be seen and how big it should be on day 12 of duck egg incubation. Thanks!

I started seeing development within 7 days. If you want to make sure its a duck egg, Duck eggs usually have a waxy texture and are larger than chickens eggs. Or you couyld just wait and see what comes out!

Except I can't just wait and see because if it is a chicken egg I have to stop turning day 18 and if a duck I have to stop turning on day 26!

I have chicken and ducks eggs in the bator now too. The chickens go into lockdown and the duck eggs will too, then they will go back on the turner for a couple days. I have read that people have great success, so I decided to try it.
