I am raising 3 duck hens and 23 chickens together, this morning I found 4 eggs that were all the same size. 3 of them were a greenish color and one was a light brown. I have not had small eggs like when chickens are starting to lay. I have been getting duck eggs for the past few weeks and this is the first time I have notice that one was a different color. Not all four could be duck eggs because I only have 3 hens. How can I tell the difference between the eggs

I have a couple of Runners who lay tan eggs, a very light brown - part of that is the bloom on the eggs, and that is heavier when they first start to lay.

Ducks lay many colors of eggs, just like chickens... I found that I could tell a chicken egg apart from a duck egg by touch... hold them in your hands and run your fingers around them... duck eggs have a general waxy type feel very distinct from chicken eggs... hope this helps... :)
