I was supposed to have my chicks by now... The hatchery said they would ship them on the 7th and they would be here Tuesday morning, well apparently they were running a little slow and shipped them Tuesday so they won't be here until Wednesday morning. I have 25 Red Rangers coming and 5 White Laced Red Cornish coming along with 45 other birds... I am keeping my meat birds seperate from my layers so the Cornish will be in a different brooder, I was wondering how I could tell them apart, I know the Cornish chicks will pea combs and the Reds will have single combs but other than that they both just look like red chicks to me. Any tips to help me separate the Cornish from the Reds? I don't want to have to look at 30 chicks heads to find the 5 Cornish but if I have to I will.

I have never raised Red Rangers but have raised White Laced Red Cornish. Once they start growing (3 to 4 weeks) up it will be easy to tell them apart. Also it will be easy to tell the sexes apart as soon as the dark red on the roosters shows up.

Nice to see real birds that were being raised. I do notice that the picture at McMurray's Website of a White Laced Red Cornish has even more distinct lacing.
