I have a chicken that a year old and she all of a sudden has been moping around. There are less eggs today than I have chickens but that is not always unusual. Her eyes keep dilating and she is moving around very slowly. Her crop is empty.

She eats normal layer pellets- they sometimes eat the sunflower seed that drops out of the bird feeders.

Bedding in the coup is pine shavings and hay.

Help!

1) What type of bird , age and weight.
RIR , 1yr, ?

2) What is the behavior, exactly.
She is moping around- stayed in the coup this morning for hours after the girls went out- when I came home she was outside but separate from the group and moving slowly. Her eyes are also dilating abnormally.

3) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.

No signs of trama

4) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.

not sure, we have a new chicken but it has been 2 weeks and she doesn't sleep in the coup and hasn't been too close to the other birds

5) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.

I have seen her pecking at things on the ground a bit. I gave her water in an eye dropper.

6) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.

Haven;t seen poop yet but her butt feathers have a little poop on them

7) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? None

8 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?

treat myself there isn't a vet around- I have a local feed store that gives advice sometimes and has meds.

9) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.

no pic- she looks fine- I checked her vent looks good- crop is empty

10) Describe the housing/bedding in use

pine shavings and hay

Today my chicken looks the same but when I went to give her some water with an eye dropper her comb under her throat feels hot to the touch like she has a fever-

any advice
