Is there a substitute to diluent that can be used?
[FONT=arial, sans-serif]I ahve 2 options for vaccinating my chickens. $400 to drive 400km to a vet to vaccinate my 12 birds, or purchase it online and have it shipped from BC. If I get it shipped from BC as just the vaccination and no [/FONT]diluent it will cost around $100. If I get it shipped with the diluent it goes way up because the vaccine is shipped cold, overnight with the diluent. So the weight for 1000 doses of diluent makes the cost go up by about 4Xs
No one in the area sells this stuff. No vets will release it either. I lived in Oregon and had no trouble getting what I needed there for stock animals. But here they have a real tight corner on the market and make a killing. Especially when it comes to chickens, they favor the farms and ignore the back yarder. Heaven forbid the farms have any competition!

So yeah, i have no problem getting the vaccine, i jsut cant get the liquid needed to administer it.
Any ideas?
