Dingleberry

My two day old RIR has a dingleberry... I tried to remove it but it seemed to cause the chick pain when I tugged on it. It's not actually in the way of the vent, it's just off to the side. Can I just leave it for now and keep an eye on it? I didn't want to tug to hard and rip the skin, therefore leading to infection...

I'd try to use a damp paper towel or baby wipe on it. I think you'll find that most poo stuff is disolvable in water.

I run warm water(not hot) on it's backside for a few seconds then take a paper towel or q-tip and dab at it until it softens up. It will usually wipe clean then. Please don't pull at it because it can rip the hide. Good Luck and welcome to the chicken world
