I have a 275 gallon IBC tote that I collect rainwater in. I have a screen to keep excess material from getting in. But I still have stuff in the bottom and sides, and algae I believe. What if anything can I do to keep this clean? Install a filter? Don't worry about it? Any advice would be appreciated .

I think there will always be "stuff" in it...algae, insects, dirt. What do you use the water for? Is it for watering poultry? I think if it's clear it's probably okay. If it gets too green or stinky I might water the garden or shrubs with it instead.

Ideally the poultry. Was trying to set it up to be low maintenance.

A little copper sulfate in the water will keep the algae from forming, and it's safe for the chickens... you'll have to clean out the algae that's already formed in it, but it prevents it from coming back... it will stain a bit though and a little sediment will still happen, but it's an antimicrobial...

Co-ops usually carry it, or you can get it from jefferspet.com...
