Out here in the soggy western Oregon winter all 6 of my chickens could care less about rain. Unless it is absolutely storming they are not happy unless they are free ranging in the yard, letting the rain run off of their backs. My white Leghorn, however, does seem to get wetter than the other 5. She also takes a lot of dustbaths, which I am guessing also help dry her off a bit. Consequently she gets positivey crusty on some days. Attached are a couple pics. She has looked dirtier than this on occasion-these show an average amount of dirt, lol! She seems her normal, busy self and lays every day, like clockwork, so I don't care that she looks pretty bedraggled most of the time. Or should I?
