I have a chick that is getting yellowish, chalkish stuff on it's bottom. I have washed it clean twice and it poops normal poop. This stuff covers .50 cent area under the vent. It's not like a normal pasty butt. The chick is eating drinking, etc. If it does it again (twice today) I will get a pic and post. It was hatched June 1st - 3 weeks old.-

It's eating regular chick starter like its 10 companions who are just fine. It appears to be fine except for it's butt and the whitish, chalky stuff that has to come from it's vent. It's not droopy, it's eating good and appears to be in good health until it turns around and you see it's butt! I will get a picture posted shortly - gotta have coffee first!

I had a grown hen who had something similiar but if I remember correctly she had lost a bit of weight loss(this kid is plump) and I turned her out, thought she was dying and she got over it and I still have her. It tries to clean itself but the stuff is very moist and kinds seeps down it's butt area. When I wash it, it poops normal poop! solid poop!

Here is some of it's poop - quite normal - it did this after I washed it's butt. If it happens again I will get a better pic of the "white chalky" stuff.....

Anyone ever see this? It is still doing it - I am washing it's butt daily - ? Chick is normal appearing in all other aspects. Just the white stuff seeping from it's vent - poop is normal.

I do wish I knew what to tell you my friend but I have no clue. Maybe someone will see this and answer. How is the chick doing? You might want to put a little oil on the area to keep it from chapping.
