dirty butts!

I have white rock hens and most of them have dirty butts, it looks gross, do you recommend I wash them and if so how do I do it. One of them has a butt nugget about the size of a ping pong ball. gross....

Butt nugget...love it!

When a couple of mine had issues with that I held them soaking their butt in warm water and worked out the "butt nugget" with a gloved hand. Then I blew their tush dry and cut the fluff just a little bit, not too short. Seemed to work for me, good luck!
