My silkie Creampuff has got to be the dumbest of my chickens. Probably why she's a favorite. She will not get out of the rain. The coop was super muddy and she got caked in it. I made a nice covered silkie run and bathed all the silkies before putting them in. I cannot get her poof clean. I poured a little water over head but didn't want to do too much. I scrubbed with a wash cloth to no avail. Any suggestions? It's hard stuff hanging down in her pretty face now. I'm sure it bugs her.

Take a warm wash cloth and pinch the bits hanging in her face and hold it there til the mud softens enough to wipe away. I would not pour water on her head.
I usually just let mine be dirty. When it's muddy they look ridiculous, but I have up on trying to keep them clean lol. Just make sure she can see and she will be fine.
