Disaster Averted!

Went down top barn a few minutes ago and found a brooder lamp had overheated and shut off. Chicks were in a heap. shivering!

Quickly tossed them into 2nd brooder box, they huddled for a few minutes but then started to move around.

Off to supply store for new light...

Always my fear that and that the light will burn out while I am sleeping or at work. Good catch.

It's never happened to me so far but its always a fear for me as well. I had a heat lamp (250 watt) in the coop over the winter, when i put it in there it was a brand new bulb, that bulb lasted all winter long!
