Diseases associated with rodents

I have a large mouse problem. I have read that mice droppings in the food can make a bird sick. Can it and how can i treat a bird.

Rodents can carry a lot of diseases. I have been trapping small mice in my coop. I wouldn't feed anything that you notice mice or rats may have contaminated. I pour all my feed in storage containers to avoid mice getting into it.
