My poor sweet chicken, of course my favorite and the nicest one we have, seems like she might have a dislocated hip. She can’t get to food or water on her own right now, and this started today. I have her inside in this crate and I’m feeding her scrambled eggs and water but here’s the problem… We’re going out of the country in two days what are the odds she can recover from something like this? She’s eating just fine but she will not put an ounce of weight on that bad leg so she can’t walk.

Videos can be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, Imgur or similar with a link posted here. I agree that a vet might be best for help in reducing the dislocation or xray. They can also prescribe an anti-inflammatory drug. How old is she? Do you high high roosts, or could a rooster have hurt her mating? Do you have plans for someone to care for her in the crate while you are away? Being able to reach food and water is very important.
