Disrupting Pecking Order

When I remove extra roosters would it disrupt the pecking order, and how bad would it be? How long until it would be peace again? I also posted this in Managing Your Flock.
 
It all really depends on your flock. I've removed and added roosters freely and they work it out pretty quickly with my flocks.
