Hello all, I would truly appreciate some help with tho situation. I had a group of chicks given to me (this has happened more than once, lately) due to storms and their inability to care for them. There were 3 left. All had coccidia (diagnosed and treated by a vet). They are 3 weeks old now. They are all bantams. I put them with my bantam chicks after they were given a clean bill of health, other than maybe being a bit small due to their prior illness.

Yesterday I had 1 chick (I think a bantam Rhode Island Red?) who is just acting a bit off. I took her back to the vet (saw someone different bc usual is out of town). He said he can’t find anything actually wrong with her but chick is definitely sleepy… and honestly he doesn’t know without doing expensive invasive tests (??)… so, here I am.

I tried to upload videos but can’t figure out how. So here is a description: They are in a large container with a hot and cold side. I am a science teacher and have a thermometer that reads to an app on your phone that I borrowed and use to monitor temp, so it is just right. I have them on paper towels still. They have access to regular and electro light water. *I do have the lid removed from the feeder and they sling food literally everywhere. This was done bc the chick I worry about kept going to sleep while eating with his head in the hole and I was worried he would get it broken by other chicks who are much more active.

The Chick in question is just extremely sleepy all the time now and seems weaker in comparison to the others. At some point he seemed to act like he ate too much (immediately after eating) and looked for a min like he might be labored breathing, but this was only once and by the time I got my hands washed and turned back to get her, she was acting normal ish again. She eats and drinks as normal…and has normal poo. Any suggestions? She is ok with being held (or is too sleepy to care). I also adjusted the lamp to see if she was too cold, but it did nothing… even the tiny little seabrights push her around…
