I have 8 chicks in my brooder. They are about 2 weeks old. We have two polish, one mottled houdan, one brown leghorn, one black austerlope, two barred rocks, and one black sexlink. A few of them like to get up higher (on the cardboard box, or feeder) and then jump on the rest of the "flock." Is this a sign that we may have a roo or two on our hands? Only the polish and houdan were marked as straight run and they aren't the "agressive" ones. I really don't want to have to get rid of any because they end up as roos. Thanks for any advice!

More likely they need more space, things to jump on, a small roost -- and be outside as soon as possible. They are plenty old enough to jump around like that. Maybe some outings on nice days?

I'm in Utah and there is snow on the ground. I will see what I can do to put another level in the brooder, so that they have more space to get away from each other. Thanks for the advice!
