I may post a separate one of the inside and other wall that isn’t shown with the window and functional shutters! This was a 4 week project (more like 5 because it’s 95% complete.) My husband spent any and all of his spare time constructing this himself. He found plans on Pinterest and decided to go for it! I could not be more pleased with how it turned out. I call it the “Magnoliafied” coop since it’s the quintessential stark white with wood and black hardware. Thanks for taking a peek at it! I have 18 chicks that still have some more time before heading in there! ❤️🐓

Welcome to BYC.

The coop looks VERY well-built and I love the fact that your husband thought to make it tall enough for him.

However, I'm concerned that you are lacking in ventilation -- especially because it's out in the open in full sun. Yes, you have the really big window, but I don't see any soffit and ridge or gable venting (heat and ammonia both rise).

Where, in general, are you located? Climate matters a lot -- here in the Steamy Southeast (central NC), I need even more than the usual recommendation of 1 square foot per adult, standard-sized hen. :)

On the roof line, where the roof meets the coop, there is a 6 inch ventilation gap on both sides, there is a window, and there is a wide open 6’x4’ opening that leads to the run.
We got these plans for the coop from a woman who lives in our general area (Texas) and she has 20 chickens and they’re doing wonderfully.

Good. :)

That roof line vent wasn't visible on my screen. It makes all the difference.
