Here's my DIY heated water system.
I've heard it described before but a photo sais a 1000 words. The milk jug is swapped out with an ice cream bucket and although I've heard it suggested to fill the heated bowl with sand, this kept the water from freezing and we experienced below zero tempteratures.
The two by four on the bottom keeps the dish up and out of the deep litter, the 2x3 above isn't a snug fit. If a bird jumps up it will wobble more than alittle; but it won't be pulled out thanks to another scrap piece of wood standing up in the very back (hard to see, but it basically works like a lock).
This setup works well for our 4 birds, and I like how it makes use of limited space in the corner. Enjoy,
