Howdy
I have a leghorn that is about 4 months old. She has started not being able to stand. And shen she tries she falls over backwards or tumbles on her side. If she is still she is OK and just appears broody. She hasn't had her first egg yet so we thought that she was just nesting and prepping for it. After 2 days we quarantined her and gave her a soak thinking that she may be egg bound. She is alert and has eaten some not nearly what she usually does. She is usually the food police in the coop. We gave here vetrx this morning thinking maybe a parasite.

Do not soak anymore, since she is weak. Give her fluids, electrolytes or sugar water, and some mushy chicken feed with egg. Break her from being broody once she is eating and drinking well. A wire dog crate with food and water, and no bedding is good for breaking a broody spell. If she still cannot stand, make a chicken sling to get her upright and in front of food and water. We always worry about Mareks when one that age has trouble walking or standing.
