dizzy hen? falling over...very quiet???

Hi,

She is a dutch bantam approximately a year old.

She is in a small flock with only 1 other hen and a rooster.

She has been very docile for a few days and this morning she cannot walk. She keeps tipping over to the one side. She has not appetite either.

but she has eaten a little bit.

crop is fine and no other symptoms.

Can anyone help?

I have started her on anti-biotics and quarentined her. This is my mother's flock.

at least isolate her, keep her warm and try some electrolyte solution in her water, may help give her some strenght. Also you can get her some chicken vitamins at the feed store. sometimes these symptoms can be due to lack of vitamins, not sure about the dizziness, but have had a hen about 14 months old that was suddenly unable to walk/stand and the vitamins helped, took about two weeks. Good luck

thanks folks. I put her on a general anti-biotic and mixed a stresspac vitamin suppliment in her food. She isn't falling over anymore and seems perfectly fine. but she is shivering. like she's cold.
