I tried to do a search, but didn't find a straightforward answer.
I have 2 partridge silkies - just hatched. One has black feet & beak, the other has pale feet with grey areas and a lighter beak. Both have 5 toes.
(I thought I was getting black & white silkie eggs, but of the 12 eggs, only 6 developed. Of those 6, FOUR were partridge. Only 2 partridge chicks made it through to hatch.)
My son picked the lighter chick for his own (he had wanted a white) & wants to show it in 4H. I just want him to have a good experience, but it would be nice if his silkie at least comes close to breed standard. We don't need a SQ silkie - just a good example of a silkie.
Thanks for your help!
