Do chickens easily make new friends?

Ever since I brought them home, I noticed that Attila the Hen (Whiting True Blue) and Houdini (Mottled Houdan) are absolute besties. They do nothing without each other. They pretty much ignore the other 5 chicks I have. (They're about 3 weeks apart.) Today, I received feedback that Houdini is probably a boy, so I'm going to have to re-home him. I'm terribly worried about Attila. Will she be okay? Will she join the other flock? Please tell me she won't die of loneliness.

They usually adapt and start mingling with the rest of the flock. They might be a bit separate from the flock the first few days, but they will adjust.
