Do chickens go "On Strike"?

Hello,
I have a flock of nine girls, all less than 1 year old. In this flock I have 2- Cream Crested Legbars, they are 9 months old, have been great layers, beautiful blue eggs almost everyday between the two of them. Just last week, nothing from either one of them, not one egg. From what I have read they are to young to molt. I find it strange that both of them just quit. Has anyone else has hens do this before? What would cause this? thanks in advance

Oh wow! ok thanks I didn't know this. I live in South Louisiana, of course we have not had any "cold" weather as of yet. Has been hot though lol. Thank you fro the response.

Also, sometimes chickens stop laying because of changes in housing, or if something really scared them.

if the coop is really dark, particularly the roost, add a window. light governs a lot. when I go in and make a lot of changes, especially with power tools, I swear they go on strike, but usually only skip laying for a day, then they all lay at once.

They have a nice window in the coop, all of the other girls are fine. Nothing unusual has happened with them, coop or run. Just the two girls decided they didn't want to lay the pretty blue eggs anymore lol. Flo and Helen.

Hmmm, nothing to my knowledge has happened, but not to say it didn't. Well maybe they will get start laying again soon. I'll give them extra treats, maybe that will help lol

Most of my girls have already stopped or slowed for this year, but i am in northern California. I have EE that all stopped laying thier first winter, they are usually my first to stop once we start losing sunlight

So maybe it is just depends on the breed and when they start to slow down or stop during the shorter days. Thanks for the reply

Yeah i think some breeds are more sensitive then others about the amount of light.
