Do chickens "plant" seeds?

So I think I found the answer....it is the ground squirrels, but they are just picking up and planting that certain seed from the chicken feeder. Pretty interesting...I knew they buried the peanuts, but this is different!

That is interesting -- I was poking around in some of my chickens' poop today looking for seeds, but it's pretty...well, processed. hehe Did you catch Mr. Squirrel in the act?

No, not caught in the act, but we put 2 and 2 together....we found a seed grass deposit in our garden where the chickens are not allowed, but the squirrel seems to be liking my spinach, so obviously he's been in there! The dogs aren't allowed in the back since we got the chickens, so the squirrel must be taking advantage of us.
