Do Chicks Need To Be Treated For Mumps

This may be a stupid question, but I heard somewhere that you should inoculate your chickens for mumps or pox. Especially one's that were not bought from a distributor. Thanks.

Chickens don't get the "mumps". They can get avian pox and there is a vaccine for this. It's up to you whether you choose to vaccinate. We do not vaccinate for anything except for Marek's disease (and that vaccine is given to day old chicks). Best, Lynn
