Do Drakes and Hens need separate shelters?

I just found out over the past weekend that 2 or 3 out of my 5 Mallards are drakes! I am excited about having ducklings in Spring, but do I need to provide different housing units for them? Please help.

No, they can all use the same shelter. When the drakes reach sexual maturity, make sure they don't start fighting. If they do, either keep them separated or sell your extra drake so you only have one.

5 hens to 1 drake. the hens could get over sexed and hurt. for now i wouldnt worry about it but as soon as they start maturing to "that" age i would rehome some drakes or give them thier own space until you have more hens
