Do eggs need to be able to roll around to hatch?

My eggs are set on a piece of bent welded hardware cloth that has rectangles about 3/4 inch by 1.5 inch. They fit nicely on the wire but it's day 18 and now I'm wondering if they need to be able to roll around to hatch.

The idea is that they roll from the inside to position themselves in the right position.... they don't ROLL the egg to the right position... many people miss understand that point... that's why they tell you not to touch the eggs after 18 days..

yes but they dont have to. they can still hatch i have put eggs in a carton with no bottom and they hatch fine.
