Crazy chicken lady
For real the internet had me thinking guineas were so much worse than what they really were. They are really starting to grow on me. The first time I threw leaves into their run and they started to play in the leaves, they made these adorable happy chirps I've never heard before, and I started to get the feels. I have 3 roosters (one will be 3 come spring and the other two will be 1), 23 hens (all but three are 2-6 years old), and am surrounded by nearly endless forest with over an acre of cleared yard, so I hope with the decent male to female guinea ratio and the fact that they were not raised with chickens will work out in my favor. I have zero tolerance with harm coming to my chickens.R2elk always warns that it's in the spring when mating season starts that issues between the species will begin. But if you only have 3 & are correct that 1 male has 2 females -maybe he'll be satisfied. But in reality, he'll probably try to chase your rooster over hill and dale.
I was always pleasantly surprised that most of the horrid stuff I read guineas would do either never materialized or wasn't as bad as implied. Good Luck!
